GREAT HILLS RESERVE

HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION (GHRHA)

Meeting Minutes

A meeting of the Great Hills Reserve Homeowners’ Association (“the Association”) was held on March 22, 2004 at 7:00 pm at the home of Ajit Gokhale, GHRHA President.  Ajit called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.  The following members were in attendance:  Paul Helfinstein, Pat Dreiling, Sheri Brummett, Elizabeth Lescher, Joni Jones, Karla Fredericks and Beverly Berkeley.

The minutes from the February 16, 2004 meeting were approved.

Old Business

Pat reminded everyone that the recently passed amendments to the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions of Great Hills Sections 23 and 24 and amendment to the bylaws still need to be notarized and registered. Amy will be asked to find a notary to notarize both her signature and Ajit’s. Pat volunteered to take the documents to be registered once they have been notarized.

The board then turned to a discussion of several complaints that have been received by the Architectural Review Committee for action. Complaints include:

1)      an exposed trash can at a house on Yaupon

2)      a house on Cassia Drive that has done some remodeling without proper authorization from the GHRHA board, had signs in their yard that violated established covenants and allowed construction-related vehicles to park on both sides of the street

3)      a house in Westhill Estates with a GEO parked in front of it on a continual basis

4)      a house at the end of Yaupon Drive that is not landscaped, and that needs to be mowed and edged

The board decided that each of these offenders would receive a letter from the GHRHA Architectural Review Committee asking them to come into compliance with the neighborhood covenants. The committee can utilize the sample letters developed by the previous committee.  The board noted that we usually have no complaints for a long periods of time and were surprised that we got four complaints from different residents all at this meeting.

It was then reported that a GHRHA sign has been purchased and will be put in place by PaulH very soon.

The next topic for discussion was the annual GHRHA Spring Fling, scheduled for April 24. The board voted to start the function at 5:30 pm, with the drawing for door prizes to be held at 7:00 pm. Sherri reported on the cost of having pony rides available for children at the event. The cost for two ponies for one hour is $95 plus a free ad in the GHRHA newsletter. The cost of 2 ponies for two hours is $250 plus the free ad. Sherri also reported that the cost of having a clown that makes balloon animals at the event will be $150 for two hours. The board voted to allow Sherri to move forward on the horse and clown and get the best pricing she can.

Door prizes were discussed, and it was determined that there would be one $5 gift certificate, two $20 gift certificates and three $25 gift certificates to be given away. Karla and Pat agreed to get the door prizes.

New Business

The subject of block captains was discussed by the board. Joni volunteered to replace Charlene Beamer as the distribution person. In addition, it was reported that two of the block captains were late delivering the current newsletter. The GHRHA agreed to write a letter to those two block captains. In addition, the board decided to put a notice in the GHRHA monthly newsletter asking for volunteers to become block captains.  We appreciate the work all the block captains have done in the last year!

Those in attendance were reminded that the next monthly meeting of the GHRHA is scheduled for April 19, 2004 at the home of Karla Fredericks, 7407 Blue Beach Cove.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.             .
